MX7000 Clean up.

So, having bought a well used MX7000 from MEVS06 I decided to go and try and clean up the lenses.

Below are pics of how it's currently turned out.

Using only PlastX, a sponge and some re-usable dish cloths.

My next task is to get into the lower base of the lightbar, and clean up those lenses, then get something to power it all with and get videos.

Edit: Added this video - it's quick, but I had to keep it short because of the neighbours.

Update -

So I managed to get the bar into the kitchen for a closer inspection.

Turns out one of the blue interior filters has been broken off;

I'll be trying to figure out a fix for it.

Also managed to do a little bit more PlastX-ing of the lenses and lower lenses, although owing to compartment space, it is proving very difficult to properly polish them, especially near the sweeps.

I say go ahead and strip it to the frame. It'll be a learning experience!

Another update -

I managed to clean a little more of the lower lenses, particularly around the alley lights.

Also switched all red filters to the rear and all blue filters to the front, with the exception of the outer rotators.

Here's a video of what it currently looks like. The extra clear light to the front is awaiting a replacement blue filter.

I donated this bar to my Police Dept today, in the hope they install it on one of our jail/reserve vehicles.

My Asst Chief seemed quite interested/impressed with the clean up and bar.
