Was bored at the station this morning and figured I'd post pics of the lightbars we're currently running on our equipment.

On our 1966 Ford engine:

(modified with an LED pod in the center that, ironically, overpowers the rest of the upper strobes on that crap lightbar.)

That's it. Enjoy.

The dome on the Dietz 211 looks like it has seen better days.

Vista strobe lightbars aren't known for their effectiveness. Halogen models are much better, and for strobes, go with Code 3 or Whelen, or a FedSig Jetstrobe.

It's been on that truck since the dept bought it new in 1965, so I'm sure it's seen better days. The pictures were taken with a cell phone though, so the quality is a bit shoddy.

like the hawks.

If u ever wanna add lower lights to the firehawk, PM me.......I have alot of streethawk/firehawk/strobehawk parts

I wouldn't mind adding a few LEDs to it, but I don't know that I would want to put halogens in it. Plus, anything I add comes out of my pocket, the dept won't pay for lighting upgrades. The chief still uses his 4 way hazards to respond to calls. lol.

I have a Whelen Edge 9000 that I got off here that I'd like to put on there when I get it changed over to red and fixed up, but I just don't know if I really want to go through the hassle of replacing a lightbar on something that's not mine when I'll probably end up getting bitched at for it. lol

The chief is dead set against lights. I don't know why, maybe it's just because he's old. He has a fully lit and striped truck for his full-time job, and still runs 4-ways on it instead of the lights. *shrug* I dunno. I reckon it'll come back to bite him eventually.
