I jus got a new (to me) 2003 F-250 reg. cab plow truck and I'm lookin for some ideas. I have a Code 3 420 rotater and a mini patriot already (one is goin on a back rack). I'm debating on a 6-strobe pack or some vertex's. Lookin for pics of the interior and where the power supply is mounted. If I go with the vertex's how do they wire up?

Thanks for all the help.

Vertex wire up like any other 4 wire Whelen head (pos, neg, pattern, sync)

Honestly, I'd go with the strobe HAWs. They're cheaper and perform better. Only drawback is power consumption, but that's minimal.

I would go only LED's. Vertex or LAW's is the way. I think Strobes are a thing of the past. What colors are you looking at getting. I might be able to get you LAW's at a very low price.

Strobes are hardly a thing of the past. LEDs cannot match the punch and power of strobes... HAW are simple to install dont really have to worry too much about placement, unlike LAW, which have to be placed in precicely the right spot. granted LED's run cooler and draw a little bit less amperage, but for me the pro's dont outweigh the cons. not for me they dont.

out of the Hundreds of strobe kits ive installed, ive done 3 LAW kits, and out of those 3, ive had 2 come back to be "downgraded" to strobes b/c the customer wasnt happy with them. and before you say i didnt get them in the proper location, Believe me i studied the angles and available spots and put them in the best possible spots.

Whenever possible I will do HAW strobes over LED's.

call me oldfashioned but i even prefer TLF/ HLF over strobes.

I dont drink the "latest and greatest" kool aid. sometimes its worthwhile to go old school. I prefer to go by the logic BEST EQUIPMENT FOR THE SITUATION. Strobes arnt always the best, LEDs arnt always the best, sometimes you gotta go halogen to get the desired results.

For the LEDs colors would be clear for the front, and red and amber for the rear. I have strobes in my other truck (GMC) and they look good I got a couplebut the GMC also has amber rear turn signals, the F-250 does not. I was gonna put an amber LED in the white back-up light. I've never owned a reg. cab truck before and was curious where you would mount the strobe pack and power leads for the LEDs.
