Can anyone tell me how many amps the motor on a single MX intersection light draws ?

I want to power one of these motors at 6volts DC instead of 12volts DC, in an attempt to slow the oscillation of the head. I understand that the bulb would have to be powered separately at 12volts.

What I cant figure out is how to reduce the voltage safely from a 12v DC power supply. Im not great with electronics and schematics, so if anyone might be able to build this, let me know as well.

Thanks

I appreciate the reply, but Im not trying to power 12voltsDC from 120vAC, im trying to REDUCE voltage from a 12vDC supply to power a motor off 6vDC. Ive already alleviated the problem of the high amp draw from the bulb by rewiring the bulb to a constant 12v supply, but now i still want to slow the oscillation down using a lower voltage supply. The resistor research is why i needed the MOTOR amperage.
