recently, i moved from Stamford to Saratoga to take care of family affairs, leaving my old FD. i have since joined with Rock City Falls FD and i figured i'd show off what they got.

ETA-531 and 533

both trucks are 98% identical. they are 2004 HME Engines. our new ER-532 will be similar to this but without a water tank.

F-534

ai275.photobucket.com_albums_jj313_Admiral_Nayru4_CAM00137_zps243595bb.jpg

534 is our F350 brush truck. no water tank but does have a small 500gpm pump and even a floating pump

R-535

ai275.photobucket.com_albums_jj313_Admiral_Nayru4_CAM00146_zps2cfee82d.jpg

535 is one of our rescue trucks. it is also one of our BLS response trucks. can hold 6 people in the back and even a patient on a backboard if needed. the cab is similar to Hobart 1811 if you remember my post of the Hobart fire vehicles in the past.

R-536

ai275.photobucket.com_albums_jj313_Admiral_Nayru4_CAM00135_zps3af8c4bb.jpg

536 is our 2010 F450 crew cab, only this has the 6.8l v10. nutless to say the least... this is our other BLS response truck and is equipped for rope and water rescue if needed.

TA-537

ai275.photobucket.com_albums_jj313_Admiral_Nayru4_CAM00144_zps123ca074.jpg

537 is our 2011 International Tanker that holds 4000 gallons. it also has a pump. dont know what the GPM is off hand.

1940 Ford

ai275.photobucket.com_albums_jj313_Admiral_Nayru4_CAM00148_zps87066a4d.jpg

this old 1940 Ford was the first truck this dept bought. it was just recently restored and has the original flathead v8 engine. mainly used for parades, but is on reserve in case we desperately need another pumper.

Car-539

539 is the second assistant chiefs 2005 Ford Explorer. nothing real notable about it.

CAR-530

530 is the first assistant chiefs 2006 Chevy Tahoe. was originally a demo truck so its LOADED with lights. 2 exterior lightbars, fullsize front interior bar, 10 grill lights up front, 2 on either side on the rocker panels, 2 heads and TA in the back window, 2 head dashlights in the rear side windows one on each side and 4 strobe HAW.

Nice rigs. We drive through there several times a week on 29 but the only FD vehicle I've ever seen is the Tahoe parked on the curve near the Post Office. Snag a pic of that when you can.

I love tandem axle tankers, and international is the way to go :)

Not a huge fan of HME cabs/chassis, though. I personally find them fugly & not particularly impressive in the performance area.

Thanks for sharing.

If you can get that truck on a scale, I'd be willing to wager that 535 is already over its gvw empty (no manpower) which could be the culprit of both of your complaints and a safety issue.

Additionally an inadequate build specification too often is a route cause of these issues.

part of its lack of power is that its an automatic. all of our trucks are. the 1940 being the only exception. the other thing is that it doesnt have very much equipment in it. hell, 536 has more equipment than 535

chiefs trucks added

Why no water tank on the brush truck? Does ETA mean Engine/Tanker?  I too like the tanker.

ETA is Engine/Tanker, EL is Engine/Ladder, T is Truck, MR is Marine Response, and MED is 1st Responder vehicle in Saratoga County.

Welcome to the area chrismartin1701, and welcome to the county with the most organized radio system in the area.

Looks like an expedition, not an explorer.

As for the suburban, do you know which shop the demo is from?

Also, any chance of gettin a video? I'm curious to see that thing lit up (exterior lightbar, ILB, 10 grill lights) and if the installer at least did a decent sync/flash pattern.

they look the same to me... none of the lights on 530 are synced.
