I just found the forum and wanted to say thanks for all the free information this site brings us!
Anyways, I am trying to get a decent lighting system for my fathers plow truck(he plows his farm and some elderly neighbors around the countryside).
I then get this idea stirring in my head that my father's whimpy Wal-Mart revolving light should be upgraded.. Tim Allen style. So I have a few questions and please understand that I go to college FT and work FT. The wife and kids also keep me busy. The only time I have to work on this is when the kids are sleeping and I usually enjoy a beer or three when I do. So here's my setup.
I acquired an edge light bar (not sure which model or year) from a friend for $20 dollars. This is what I do know so far.
1. It has a ballast that supports the 4 corner strobes which are the 6" turbo64 model tubes. The rest of the bulbs are 27w halogens. Two sockets have nothing in them.
2. It has a separate board for the wig-wag of 2 halogens.
3. Gonna need some TLC.
4. Not wanting to spend alot of $.
I also purchased a ballast for 6 strobes with different connectors thinking that this will be gooder.
