Eagle Butte: Tribal officer killed on duty ID'd

The tribal police officer killed in the line of duty on the Cheyenne River Sioux Indian Reservation has been identified.
Merrill Bruguier was killed Saturday morning in a one-vehicle accident at the junction of S.D. Highway 63 and U.S. Highway 212, Chad Olson, Cheyenne River Sioux Indian Reservation police lieutenant said.
Bruguier worked for the department for 14 years; eight as an officer and six as a detention officer, Olson said.
The accident is still being investigated and further details were unavailable.
