Hey everyone. I tried searching to see if there was a post on this already but I’m not seeing one so I apologize if I may have missed it.
Fellow lightbar collector here from Indiana. I have five WeCAN Control Points. One is a newer one manufactured in 2016, and then I have four older ones which were created in 2008, 2009 and two and 2010 respectively. I have the Whelen Command software on my Toughbook. I’ve had no issues programming and configuring the newer one made in 2016. The problem I’m running into is when I plug in the four older control points, my computer recognizes them but when I go to update software or try to program them, I’m getting a message stating that they need to be updated, however, the software is not allowing me to.
I even triedsome older Whelen WeCAN Software that came with my Gen 3 Cantrol and my Sapphire controller and still no luck.
I’m not sure if anyone else has ran into this issue or if there’s any suggestions on a way to update the programming in these? I’m also not sure if maybe it’s so old that they’re just junk at this point but before I throw them out, I wanted to ask.
I’m trying to program some of the Whelen Liberty 2’s and Legacy bars I have and I would really like to use these, but it’s been a struggle.
As always, I appreciate everyone’s input and dedication to the site as I’ve definitely learned many useful things over the years.
