PA300 siren tone issue

I have silver PA300 that is only giving off a steady siren tone, and nothing else, regardless of the position of the knob.

I know it's an issue with the rate capacitor but that's where my expertise ends. Anyone know if it's just a capacitor or transistor thats fried?

How do you have it wired up?

What do you mean exactly?

Wow Gman, you want help with something, after you pissed everyone off.

Good luck with that.

Thanks for the advice fagle. I won't need it from you or the rest or the goon squad.

Is it ramping up and staying stuck or just constant tone as soon as you turn it on?

i have a black one for sale or trade .

Sorry, I have to say no. It's not my siren unit, it's a firefighter I know who wants the sound of the silver pa300 back on the rescue. I don't know how or when he got it, but I told him I would take a look and see what I could do. Worst case scenario, he sends it back to fed sig and pays $90.

I'm trying to avoid that.
