Welcome to the board.

A progressive slide switch lets you go from position 1 to 2 to 3 and progressively turns on more lights... A lot of people have them setup as

Position 1: Rear maybe 1 or 2 secondary lights to the front

Position 2: Front and Rear Red/Amber/Blue

Position 3: Front White and HLF

You're going to have to be way more specific with regards on how to wire the switch box to your lights... As a "professional installer" as stated in your profile, you know that you have a designated area whether it's remote from the switchbox or at the switchbox which you bring all your lighting connections to be managed usually through relays.

My recommendations would be decide which slide switch box you want to use, and then read the directions and follow accordingly. If there are still outlying questions, use the search function to see if the same question has already been asked. If it hasn't been asked then obviously ask as the forum is a wealth of knowledge.

The programmable switchboxes such as the CenCom, SmartSiren, Code 3 RLS and others can be challenging to someone who hasn't programmed them before, but for your everyday switchbox with a slide switch and 4 on off switches, the directions are usually quite clear.

Anyone know where I can buy/make a very low profile slide switch, or use some kind of toggle?

this is my first time with this type of switch box normally everyone has simple boxes or i do everything on an independent switch like they ask me too.

for everyone on the forum who sees this when i mean professional installer on my profile i mean i can do modification to ur factory equipment to give it the clean not bulky look an i can do custom applications. I am very knowledgeable in vehicle electronics an am very capable of doing this professional but with so many products out there its hard to keep up on things. A place like this is a good thing to have to share what i know with someone else an when i need help to be able to sit down an ask someone else who has experience. i am not writing this out of spite or anger im just writing this to inform the people that i come in contact with that i am fully capable an have knowledge of lights an other emergency equipment related to emergency vehicles an as we call the POV's

Here's the installation manual... http://www.fedsig.com/docs/256970.pdf

Hookup whatever you want on being parked on the side of the road on position 1... usually lighting to the rear and maybe a set of secondary lights to the front... Some people put all four corners of a lightbar on position 1... It's difficult to say as we don't know exactly what type of install you're doing...

Hookup everything else except white and the HLF to position 2... IE... Lightbar... Traffic advisor warning pattern... Front dash lights, grill lights etc...

Hookup white and HLF to position 3... IE Flashing takedowns, white intersection strobes/LAWs etc.

Just a suggestion.

It would be a lot less of a pain in the ass if you weren't building your own jumpers. You could get some jumpers like these:

They install like this:
