Interesting story forwarded to me w/in departmental email. We don't carry o2 in our squads, & our flares are kept in a application specific container. From the photos I've seen, it almost appears that the patrol car was CNG compatible (large round cylinder visible inside the blast peeled quarter panel), if so the officer was most likely very fortunate indeed.
