Well, since joining this site I've come to like digging out my dads light bars to mess around with. So far I've cleaned up a Jetsonic and this Whelen. The bar came off of a Medford PD, OR car. Got a few 9000's, two Vectors, and two Jetsonics for $100 or 150 at an auction. Pulled this one out and cleaned it up. buffed all the lenses and cleaned up the reflectors a bit. One of my favorite 9000's, right behind the one that's on my Crown Vic:D I did stick this one on my other car, I thought the blue tied in nicely haha

Done, other than I need to remove the feet and paint them...

Standard blue flashing, slow red LED flash to rear, faster LED red flash to front, solid red to front, take downs, and alleys. Wish the flash pattern could change like my older Edge 9000 on my Crown Vic.

I love that setup. If you ever want to part with it, let me know :)

edge bars OSP .jpg

how many do you want ? thats the standard OSP (oregon state police ) spec bar, lots of them were passed down to local departments over the years, and they were offered on state bid priceing for cheep....

the original edge bars ( when they switched in 98 ish) had dual duplex rear strobes and 400 series leds front and rear. with red lenses over the leds

sirenent ordered a whole bunch of these 9m bars a few years back, and when OSP unexpectedly changed to liberty bars sirenent was stuck with hundreds of new bars , they were offering them for about 800.00 with your pic of lenses new in the box.

OSP used different end caps, their spec were split blue / clear with a clear alley window, basicaly a clear endcap with a blue rear corner ( state law says no clear to the rear)

What would you be looking to get for one?

Nice work on the buffing. Did you use any special compound?

I used 3M "Perfect-It" #2. Purple bottle, black cap. I would have used #1, but I didn't have any. I have yet to go over the lenses with #3 for fine scratches. I didn't sand the lenses down either. I don't wet sand Edge lenses since they clean up well with just buffing. Clear will always have a yellow tint that appears to be inside the plastic.

Buffing lenses is probably my favorite part of refurbishing. Just gives a light bar a totally different look than before:D

Thanks for the tip on polishing the lenses..I'll have to try that 3m stuff..I liked the blue lens combo with clear..with the red in the back it looks like Chicago PD..real nice bar:D
