SA314 mounting questions

Hi everyone,

I recently picked up a Whelen SA314 to replace a P.O.S. STL speaker. I'd like to mount the SA314 on the push bumper, preferably hanging below the center bar as I have a light stick mounted on the top.

Two questions:

1) Does anyone know the model number of the bracket I should use for this application? I can't find good pictures online of any of the brackets available for this speaker.

2) I'd like to mount the speaker upside down, so the wire comes out of the top of the speaker. Is this practical? There's a sticker on the speaker warning that it must be mounted right-side-up, but I'm not really sure why.

Thanks!

83422 is the number stamped into the bracket.

The speaker bracket allows the bracket to be mounted up, down, right, or left, but the speaker itself needs to have the wires out the bottom so water does not get inside and damage the driver. .

Thank you very much! I suppose I can mount it right side up and tuck the wire behind. Do you have any experience with this speaker? I'm pairing it with a carson SA-361 remote siren and am hoping I'll see an improvement over my current setup...the STL speaker I have sounds like it's clipping out and is just not loud enough for effective warning.

Thanks again!

Thanks again for the replies - I ended up mounting it using the bracket Retired1 showed me (Whelen part number SABKT1) but I mounted it on top of the push bar - it wouldn't fit underneath. It's MUCH louder and MUCH clearer - and I can stop being embarrassed of that STL junk on my truck.

Cheers!
