Here are some pics of the recent PA State Fireman's Convention Parade in Hanover Township, PA on 9-25-2010. Over 200 pieces of apparatus were in attendance. It was a nice mix of new and classic trucks. I was amazed at how many older bars were still in use, especially older Code 3 XL's, even a few Twinsonics were in attedance.

Enjoy the show.

Nice post.

The "Old is all I can say, beautiful engine" is an Ahrens-Fox.

That particular white Berwick Mack is a famous piece among Mack collectors. (think Harvey Eckart)

The privately owned Ward LaFrance and the early 50's GMC would look so much better if they didn't have 60's-70's vintage beacons on them.

I knew that!! I couldn't think of the make when I was posting.

I certainly agree with mismatched beacons with regard to the vehicles' vintage.

The New Salem pumper has a cab made by Hendrickson.

Where I live, the city fire department bought an aerial platform truck with a Hendrickson cab and a Calavar Firebird 125 folding boom in 1974. It had a single CP25 speaker on the passenger's side bumper, PA15A series 1E electronic siren, and two red Dietz 711 beacons. The Calavar boom didn't work well in cold weather, so the city had the truck rebuilt with a Snorkel boom in 1989. When the truck was rebuilt it was painted lime green, and the PA15A, CP25, and 711s remained. The truck is still in service as a reserve unit.

There are a lot of volunteer FDs across the province that are still using trucks with older light bars.

Its a very unique looking cab, I think the only one I have seen locally. The front of the engine says Car Mar. I had no idea who the maker was.

It is nice to see it still in service.
