Anthony, could you post some more pics of your rigs? I work for the Safety Safari and am always intrested in other motorsports safety rigs. What kinda suppression system do you use? Is SFR the same guys that cover some IHRA events?

Chad,

We use 150 LB Cold Fire Tanks on the back of most trucks. Most of our trucks also have PKP on the back for anything major like multi car fires. We cover some at Cordova Dragway in Illinois and also cover races at Cedar Falls Iowa, In addition we cover, West Liberty, Davenport, Farley, and Dubuque Iowa. We also cover the Knoxville Sprint Car Nationals in Knoxville, IA. More pictures will be up soon.

I see you guys every year at the air-show. I'd always been tinkering with the idea of joining Speed-Way but id need a different job first.

If you ever do decide to join let me know and I will pass you the contact info for the recruiting officer as well as pass your info to them.

I will check more into the SOP's and get more info on those for you as I do not have them with me at the moment. As far as staffing we have about 50 or so members and are always looking for more due to the number of tracks we cover and not all "members" actually work at the tracks. We do have some that do the business side of things. As far as my POV goes, I am upfitting to use it when I get back there but I am CA with the navy right now and have been asked about doing some install work down here on a few of the guys that work safety at the desert races so it will also be used as a demo vehicle (and will be labeled as such) to show them I can do a quality job on a budget as most of them use there own vehicles as well.

That truck needs a bedliner.

Don't think you could convince him to upgrade the lightbar? That siren speaker has got to be one of the worst pieces of equipment ever made. We have finally gotten ride of all of them that we had and have gone to regular speakers.

i believe he will be getting a Line-X shortly but no he said "I wont upgrade the lightbar until it quits" he bought it brand new from a whelen distributor for 200 bucks with the speaker. it works and get the job done so no need to upgrade anything.
