ss2000sm wiring question

I hope this is the right place to ask.(my ss2000 is only powering around 22 amps in lighting)

I have 2 question about the smarsiren. dose the ground wire have to be ran to the feder by the battery - or can I ground it at a rear body ground with 12g wire?

when wiring a 6 head traffic advisor should I start from 1 and go to 6 or should I skip 1 and 8?

For the ground, I just attached it to the nearest body ground. 

As for the traffic advisor, skip outputs 1 and 8.
