TowTruckLeds 3 w Maxi Bright

you def have to get the vid of them installed up

i was thinking to use them with my intersections lights

FYI. A strobes is a totally different type/style of light. A led does not "strobe." You might hear/see something being described as a LED strobes. There is not such thing. Not being an a** there is just seems to be a lot of confusion about that.

Are those LED's pretty inexpensive?

Just to clarify, as I think I've called the product several different names by mistake, it's this: Maxi-Brights, 3 watt marker/strobe lights. Amber, or White

And yes, it's not a stroboscopic light per say, but it flashes in a strobe (verb) effect thanks to a SHO-ME 11.1005TSF LED Flasher.

I tried to finish the install on these last night at the station, but ran into a problem with my grill lights working on the flasher. So it may be a few days until I'm completely done and can show you how these look without wires hanging all over.

Thanks for the review. To clarify, these are LEDS, and they flash a triple flash strobe-like pattern. The flasher is built in to the light, the box on the cord is a constant current driver to keep the voltage constant. These are not even close to the lights pictured in the above link (I've tested some). These have the best Cree leds in them, and that is why they are this bright. They can be sync'd together using an external flasher. Regular price on these is $22 each, they are on sale for $19.95 each ending tonight at midnight central lime.

It looks like a very decent product for aux lighting

That's exactly what we designed them for. Just to light up dead areas. The smaller version (Mini-Brights) of these are the smallest practical warning light on the market.

I can say that i bought two of these lights a few months ago. I never got around to doing a review even though I thought they were pretty damn good for the price. I was planning on building a traffic advisor that could follow the bend of the roof rack line on my tahoe. these lights will get the job done no problem. Would i put four of these on the front of my truck and use them for response purposes? no. but i would put them on the sides of the truck to indicate size of vehicle and provide some cheap BUT effective lighting on the large side of my tahoe. these lights will blow you away how bright they are!

the applications and uses for these are limitless. you could mount them on the sides of vehicle. you could use them for steady burn comparment lights. they would be great for small vehicles like golf carts and bikes for crowd usage.

I even bought another order last night because this post reminded me that I wanted to get more.

cant wait to get them installed and in use.

hmm... i could think of a few uses for these with the number of installs I do. I might have to purchase some if I get some spare funds to test.

I have been looking for something like this in purple for a special job. Ugh... i wish the guy didnt want purple

Actually, the ones you bought were the old version. The second version came out the week before Christmas and are even brighter (Cree LED's), and have a few other improvements. These are exclusive to our company.

Lets see some pics.

I have 12 of the old version in the grille of my F550 as driving/warning lights. I'm changing them to to the new version so I can update the pics. Here's pics of the old version:

And lit up on steady burn:

So I bought a nice 3/4" drill bit to enlarge the holes I plan on using these lights in. Had to borrow a drill (mile wouldn't hold this monster bit) and enlarged the holes. That went easy, too easy.

I threaded my wires thry the holes, get the light up to the hole...and low and behold it won't fit.

Even though these are advertised to fit a 3/4" hole, they didn't. I tried reaming the hole out a little with the bit, still no fit.

I don't want to make the holes too big, because then they will be loose and it'll be a real PITA to silicone these from the backside in this location. But the way they are right now, the body of the light won't even fit thru the hole, let alone the clips on the side of the light to hold it in place.

The seller's website says "These lights are 3 watts each and will fit existing 3/4" holes. Mounts in 3/4" holes with spring clips, no grommet or nuts required. Just pops right in!" Well, not soo much!

It it's not raining here later today I'll try to get some pictures.

Sorry about the misinformation, I did not correct the size since the MFG changed the housings from 19mm to 20mm. It's about 1/32" larger than previously stated on the site. Website has been updated.

i just bought a step bit from 13/16 to 1 3/8 online for under 20 shipped on Amazon

it will work for these LEDs and Hide Aways

Here's the light reflection from 6 yellow Maxi's (3 each side) angled around the corner. 19 truck lite 3/4" markers in the A & H are not as bright as one Maxi.
