Hello Group,

Wow the game is Good uh? Go Packers LOL! ; )

Ok now, Is anywhere here a link to know if could I use pimp pods for to make a traffic advisor?

I remember I have read a post long ago where someone said it has some problems trying to make a traffic advisor say with 10 or 12 amber pimp pods.

Flasher I will try is SHO-ME Rotary LED Switch / Flasher module 11.1025.008.

Thanks for the help

I made one with 8 of the first version pimp pods, I set them to steady burn and hooked them to a code 3 narrowstik controller, everything worked and looked great, the only problem I had was there is a fast random pattern on the narrowstik controller and the pods would not even light up half way or even at all on the fast pattern. I thought it may be due to the 15' cable and the LED's not getting enough power so I hooked 2 of the LED's directly to the controller with the same results. but for regular TA pattern and even on fast it worked great, just not on the super crazy (but cool) random pattern the controller offered.

You can set them all to steady burn, get the Axixtech traffic/warning controller, and get the flash module from a commander. All around $100.00 plus the cost of the leds...many custom set ups can be done with this set up...

I've had issues for some reason with both the Rev 1 Pods and Axixtech SE3s that seem to have a fraction of a second delay when turning on when set to steady. The set I had on an external flasher just never quite worked right and eventually were swapped back out to TIR3s which didn't seem to have any issues at all.

I had a customer do this very thing with the latest pimp pods. Worked just fine! Not sure what controller they used, tho.

yeah, I wonder why this flash energy missing happens with the SE3´s on the super fast flashing modes on the led flasher...

@ CenTexPSE , how many le modules did he used on his set up? I am thinking making my T.A. with 12 led SE3s modules.

Thanks.

Even with it on the single flash alternating pattern, there's a slight gap/dark time between heads on the SE3... Not nearly as bad when on double flash. But once you get in to some of the faster/multi-element patterns, it seems like they just don't quite "charge" high enough to hit full intensity... Either way, cool little lights, personally I like the Pimp Pods better just for the sake of customer service, build quality and ease of installation. The Axixtech isn't difficult by any means to install, just wierd quirks at that odd ball "off" pattern that seems to have caused at least a few of us a moment of WTF when first working with them... Thought it was a DOA head.. Nope, just set to pattern 15 "off"... Grrr.

yes the first generation pimps have some flickers with certain patterns. i had that issue before i changed over too whelen when a very sweet deal came into my life. I forget what other company i had that issue with too. I can't speak for the newer generations though.
