Anyone know anything about these Mars Skybolt Portables? Wondering if the Model # has any specific meaning? Im thinking the "3" might be for this particular 3 bulb Skybolt. Might a 2 bulb Skybolt on this arrangement be a SWC-P2? 14581472_10207532578257398_8304266346343525008_n.jpg

They are rare. Not a heavily sold light, due to the popularity, and effectiveness of the much easier to use magnetic mount portable lights.
True Dan,
But remember magnetic lights are intended to be used on stationary vehicles only as temporary warning lights, per most manufacturers instructions (for obvious liability reasons). Magnetic lights in general were never intended to be used on moving vehicles, even though everyone did and still does today LOL. This mount was actually intended to be used on moving vehicles, but for more of a short term period.

Model SWC-P3...........................what it stands for

"S"= Skybolt
"W"= ?
"C"= Chrome
"P"= Plastic
"3"= 3 bulbs

Any guesses on what the "W" stands for?

As a collector I dont look at practicality as much as I look at uniqueness and rarity. I guess we all deal with our hobbies in our own way.

I see other chrome models marked SW2, SW3. I'm thinking the c might mean "Clamp on"??
W....maybe "Warning"??
Maybe the P is for "Portable"?? Plastic models seem to be SW2, SW3, with no P??

Tri Lite which makes the Skybolt uses "CP" for chrome plastic in their current line as part of the model#. Thats where I came up with the C and P designation. P for portable would make sense though. You are probably correct with that assumption Dan
