Ok here's a new one for me. I was asked to take a look at a unity spot light because it keeps blowing fuses. Well I figured out the with the beam aiming straight up it works fine but when it is positioned facing forward such as on a traffic stop it pops the fuse. Anyone experience this before. I tried searching and found nothing. Must be lack of sleep. Thanks for your help.

Sounds like the power wire is grounding out when the light is rotated... you're probably gonna have to open it up and investigate and see what side is causing the issue...

The inner shaft might be worn touching the outer shaft. It uses the shafts to transfer the power thats how it can go round and round without breaking wires.

So its probably best to just replace it then? Anyone have one for a cvpi....

Thats what I would do. I think you can get just the shafts but if its been used so much the shaft is bad I would guess other parts arnt too far behind.

Remove the handle and the bulb. Test for continuity on the inner shaft & ground by rotating the entire assembly. If there's no changes, you may want to look at the handle itself.
