Anyone who wishes to post pics or vids of their most prized vintage vitems or restorations reply/attach them here. This can be items you have already posted in other threads. I am trying to get a single thread going to show off the rarest and best. This will be a sticky and serve like a muesem for the vintage section of the site.

Very early vintage NOS, NIB Model 17 Federal Enterprises Inc. Beacon Ray, 6 Volt, with NOS split blue/red dome.

Not rare, but more of an evolutionary example of vintage equipment:

[Broken External Image]:http://www.lesliee.sasktelwebsite.net/circuits.jpg

All three are blue-faced Federal Interceptor electronic sirens, each with a different circuit board and different sounding wail and yelp tones.

Left: PA20 (early to mid 1960s), low-pitched tones.

Centre: Early PA20A (late 1960s), slow rising low-pitched tones.

Right: PA20A series 2E (1970s), high-pitched tones.

That Sireno Mity Lite is Mity fine! I've gotta dig out my collection, display it, and take pics. NOS Powercall and a Mars Clarion II siren are probably my best items.

Me neither, looks rather cumbersome when the Fireball could simply be placed on top of the roof of the vehicle when needed.

Could have been used with permanent mount lights, on convertables, or the old vinyl roof coverings, and to raise the light above roof level, or to eliminate scratching of the roof by magnets. The bracket instructions show the light being screwed to the bracket. Also remember that the old mag. mounts, like on the Fire Ball, did not hold really well a higher speeds. This is more secure.

Just some thoughts. It's a rare and interesting piece. I remember when they were in the catalogs.

I used to have a 1967 Chevy Impala with a vinyl top. The magnets they put on the "mag mount" lights of that era would not have held through the vinyl...

I recall reading some informational paperwork where Federal advised the little swivel piece at the front of the base on the original 3 magnet Fireballs that had a small hole in it was intended to hook onto a screw in the top of the vehicle roof to keep it from flying off vinyl roofs. I always thought that to be odd since I can't imagine anyone wanting to put a screw in their vehicle's roof.

Yes, many of the manufacturers of that time had the same type of device, including Dietz and Signal Stat.

Dietz, and Sig Stat's studs were a good deal larger than the small screw sent with the Fire Ball.
