Vista takedown flasher

Hey guys. I've got a halogen Vista. I am trying to get the takedowns to alternate. What I have done so far:


Found the two wires leading to the two takedown lights. Found the flasher unit and removed the two wires coming in from the four flashers. Attached one takedown to L1 and the other to L2. I power up the flasher using the green/white wire.


Good news! They flash! But...sometimes one will just blink really fast and make a grinding/clicking noise while the other light does the same but very dim. Now I replaced both takedown bulbs with ones from rear flashers (rear flashers are lower wattage, correct?). Still same result.


Any ideas? Purchase an additional flasher for them? It says no more than 10 amps on either side. Each takedown lamp isn't more than 10, right?

Check and clean all you connections, especially the grounds...

Still having the problem. The terminals on the flasher are made to work with the quic disconnect ones on the end of the wires. Unfortuneately, the takedown wires in this particular bar are extremely short and cannot reach the flasher. I jerryrigged a wire into the female disconnect of the takedown wire and wrapped the other end of the wire around the flasher's terminal. Still having that problem...


But when I replace the jerryrigged contraption with the original flasher disconnect terminals, it works like a charm. Think the problem is with it not being firmly conected via disconnect terminal?
