I might be joining a volunteer ambulance service and was starting to look at siren controllers to buy. What is the best? I’m leaning more towards a Fed Signal, either an SS2000, SS3000, or Pathfinder. The pathfinder is cool because it has a dual tone option and integrated rumbler capability. I am also open to Wheelen or other companies. What I definitely need is a few good tones (wail, Yelp, priority, hi-lo, etc), and I would need a rumbler as well. I don’t think I’d need dual-tone capability unless someone can convince me otherwise. What would be the best controller for me?

You would like the Unitrol Touchmaster. It’s reliable and has all the tones you like. SSP3000 also has Unitrol tones + Smart Siren tones so you if you want something new that’s your best bet. SS2000 is also a reliable controller with all the functions for lighting and siren you need.

It really comes down to a few factors. What's the budget? New only, or used as well? How many functions do you need? How much independent lighting control do you need? How many watts?
