Whelen 900 series halos + flasher

I have an upcoming project where I'm going to be mounting some Whelen 900 series halogens on a rig and thought that a simple HLF would work to flash them. I'm going to be alternating 1 clear with 2 red. Any suggestions for a good flasher or HLF that would be able to handle the amps? I'm looking for CHEAP! This is coming out of my pocket for my VFD.





What would the proper wire size be for these? Fuse size?





Suggestions? Pointers? Tips? Advice? Personal experience? Testimony? Pics? Vids?

They use the same 55 watt halogen bulb as any lightbar. I would fuse it with a 20 amp fuse as you're looking at 4.72 amps per head. For a flasher, just a cheap wig-wag unit will work. Sirennet has a Whelen one for $30. http://www.sirennet.com/whuhf2150.html Another thought to consider: do you have a junk yard nearby with old ambulances or fire truck? I got an ambulance flasher out of a junked truck for $10. A little over kill for your application, put the price is right!

Just a Basical EL13a flasher from like napa.


It just alternates between the two outputs. Red on side, clear on the other. It's rated at like 20 amps or something too. And they should be around 20 dollars or so and should be easily available.

You could probably get a used FA3, rated to 10 amps per side, for about $5 here on the board. It's a simple alternating pattern at 90 FPM. The newer style FA3 with the ground wire ensures that the rest of the lights keep flashing even if one has a burned out bulb.

Burt, get with me I have brand new sound off heavy duty flasher that can flash a set of hlf


and grille lights at the same they plenty heavy duty. I'll get some pictures for you,
