Hi All!

The installer who installed this... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N-nGuGW_9Io made reference to the Whelen CanTrol as what synched all the lightheads... Does anyone else know anything about this system?? I'm hoping it's like the innards of the WeCan Liberty that can control an entire lighting package

Thanks!

That installer is Hugh Albright. I believe he is a Whelen rep out of Michigan and he's a member here.

I've talked to people about the CanTrol system. It is pretty amazing what it can do (just about anything). Basically take Cencom Gold, put it on steroids, let it procreate and that's where you get CanTrol. Multiple configurations and controls heads will be available. That's all I'm saying for now. :D

Thanks for the info guys!!

So couple questions... So from what I can extrapolate... It's a lighting/siren unit... better than the Cencom... Dual Tones?? Programmable tones?? Do we have a release date?? How about guestimates on pricing... ??

Thanks for any info you can provide!

Yes - Centralized control for all lighting and siren functions

better than the Cencom..

Better - well - totally different... its like comparing a 295 series siren with a Cencom - CanTrol will give people a entirely new level of control.... pardon the pun..

Dual Tones??

Not at this time - One Amp - dual speaker at 200w

Programmable tones??

As in enable / disable - and a list of assignable tones - yes

Do we have a release date??

Nope

How about guestimates on pricing... ??

Cannot even guess at this point... well lets say a guess would only be that....

It's not a big deal - you have to look at costs and truly how many would use it... you can simply add an inexpensive Alpha siren to the system and you have dual tones...

I have done this many times with cencom - it saves money

Very True... but that takes up aux outputs that can be used for other things... I've done this as well... Just doesn't make the siren as easy to use as it could be...

This should no longer be an issue...

I believe Philter was talking about the outputs. Lets just say there will be no shortage of outputs......

Fun to leave them all hanging huh Brent......

Yep - it's only fair.... It will be worth the wait.... it's like the ipad or new iPhone.... all i can say is it should not matter how you hold it, it will work...at least on 3G and wiFi...

rumor has is that there will be ~32 outputs on it and the control head will be just like Cencom, but with option of master on/off, and 3 position push buttons (no slider). But again, that's just rumor.

Are the lights in sync with the siren tone !?! I have been wanting to do that for literally years!!!! Oh, and the remote thing is cool, too, I guess, if you are in to that sort of thing ;)

23 hours ago Nice... I'm guessing this is all CanTrol again? Do the lightbars / inner edge's? etc have to be special compatible versions or will existing ones work?

They will work with existing products. However, only a wecan bar will sync with everything. Otherwise, it will? just function as it normally does, but be controlled by CanTrol.

Had it in our previous cars. Failed most of the time, we went back to a more classic set up.

I think I still have one, brand new in the box.
