Whelen Edge HELP

Right now I have a mini four strobe Whelen 9000. I want to convert it over to a 9M bar. Apparently it is not as easy as it looks. I know I need a 9M4S power supply in order to convert it but that's about all I know. Do I need an I/O board in order to plug the 6-pin plug into? If so, which I/O board? I plan to keep it a four strobe and add a piercer to the front and two halogen lights to the back as wig wags.

The Mini Edge does not have an I/O board.

By the time you buy a new power supply, the wire harnesses, the lenses and strobe modules, you might as well buy a new mini 9M bar.

May I ask why? Twodogs is right. Just add the Piercer and the halogens. You can add the 9M4S power supply, they will work on the existing strobes.

Just for my collection. It brings back old memories of the piercer. I thought the 9M4S power supply does not have a negative and positive wire leaving from it? I thought the 6-pin pigtail had to be connected to an I/O board then connect the I/O board to the battery. How would I hook up the 9M4S without the 6-pin pigtail?

I don't understand why your wanting to change the power supply. Are you thinking of adding a 9M power supply and I/O board so you can plug the Piercer into the I/O board for power? If so, just utilize some of the unused wires in the existing harness to power it.

Are you adding a strobe piercer ?? The 9000 strobe power supply (EB6) will let you do 6 strobe heads.

The 9M4s power supply will only let you do 4 strobe heads but does give you 10 patterns.

Yes, you can wire the 9M power supply without an I/O board.

You could actually put 2 9m4s power supplies into that mini and have 8 strobe heads.

The Piercer is self contained. Doesn't need an external power supply.

Cant really mix tubs on the edge power supplys. Well you can, but you have to flash the linear together then the helix together. The EB-6 would not work in that application.
