Whelen grille strobes

So I've had these grille strobes sitting around for a lonnnnnnng time, and since I have a new work truck I'm outfitting with a custom 9M all strobe bar, I figured I might as well use these, too. But I need to find amber lenses fir them. IIRC, Whelen only sold these as whole units and were designed to be disposable and not relampable and didn't offer just lenses... you had to order the module with the colors you needed. I could be completely wrong, so please correct me if I am. The lenses have no numerical series molded into them, just "Whelen GRL".

I'm hoping to find new or NOS amber lenses fir them. Anybody know where to find them?

I personally have only ever seen 1 pair of these on a buddy's truck. They were red and evidently were made to attach to the bottom of Advantage light bars. Hope you are able to find what you are looking for!

You are right, they are the same assembly. It's a little funny that Whelen uses the exact same part numbers but prints a different part name on the label depending on how you order it - I guess it keeps busy fleet managers happy and not scratching their heads.

And now you have me thinking back to when AdvantEdge bars were a dime a dozen and there were piles of them for sale... I kept putting off buying one or two of those and nowadays I hardly ever see any. Those and Tomar strobe bars... oh well, live and learn. When you see something you want for your collection, buy it. It may not be around for long!

Those are the original 52 series lenses, I have a couple of those lights, installed them on my 96crown Vic back in the day and got them off before the car went to the junker after the motor seized mine were in amber and clear and green

I believe they were the same lens used on dash mismiser dash lights and flatmiser visor lights. Check this link on eBay https://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-WHELEN...=0&customid=link&campid=&toolid=20001&mkevt=1

Also possibly same as 500 series lens I think

500 series were the newer versions that only fit 500 series lights not even the old dash misers, they made a dashmiser in that series cause I have both and they are not interchangeable. Below you will see pictures of a halogen, strobe ( new never used before 500 series ( 500 series lense below )) and an old strobe from 2007??? ( Funny that was on my 96 crown in 99 maybe they meant 97, odd ). Also the original install sheet with part numbers and last, the dashmiser plus series.

They are smaller that 52 series, they were model "ghl" or something, I'd have to look, but not 52 series. I can check if I have NOS amber, I think I do.
If you do find some amber lenses please let me know!

As far as my all-strobe Edge bar, I'll start a new thread for it. I have just begun (as of this afternoon!) to work on it and I'm sure I will need help from some of you.

I have some amber, they are used but would polish fine, no crazing etc, just some surface fade.
