Wanted Whelen Inner Beam Lightheads in Amber (or Clear)

Looking for Whelen Inner Beam lightheads in Amber...but would take clear if that’s all I can get. Please don’t tell me they’re the standard LIN6 lightheads - I have confirmed with both an installer and with Whelen, themselves, that those lightheads are slightly different and do not fit in the Inner Beahousings. I have the housings; just need the lightheads. Would consider trading the blue lightheads I have for the amber (or clear) ones.

I know you don't want to hear this, but I think it's only the housing that's different.

Try your blues in the housing. see if they fit!

Thanks for the literature links. I was planning to look those up but that saved me the trouble. The blues are in the housings; they are original to the inner beams. My installer tried to swap in some 500 series heads and they did not fit. :-/

I wonder if there are different generations of LIN6 heads?

I kind of wondered that myself. I also wonder if Inner-edge (LIN6) heads would work in the Inner beams.

The Inner Beam install manual lists these part numbers for lightheads:

I can't find these part numbers listed in any other manuals. The line drawing of the modules in the Inner Beam manual resembles the LIN6 modules used in the Inner Edge and Rear Deck Talon, but they use different part numbers:

01-0264260-120 LED/REFLECTOR MODULE, AMBER​

01-0264260-220 LED/REFLECTOR MODULE, BLUE​

01-0264260-320 LED/REFLECTOR MODULE, WHITE​

01-0264260-520 LED/REFLECTOR MODULE, RED​

01-0264260-J20 SUB ASSY, LINEAR 6 LED STEADY RED/BLUE 500 SNAP-IN​

This is likely because the Inner Edge and Rear Deck Talon modules are of the two-wire steady-burn variety as they rely on an external flasher.

The Inner Beam modules have internal flashers and sync wires. This may be the only place Whelen used such modules.
