Whelen responder Linear LED mini bar

I just got a whelen responder mini bar in the mail today from a board member, the bar is super bright and in great condition. It has a cig plug with a power switch and momentary for pattern selection, the cable is about 2 feet to short for the way i want to put it on my truck ( on the roof with wire running through back window tucked behind back seat and upto outlet on dash). My question is how hard is it to extend a wire like this, ive done them with only a power switch but never with a pattern switch also. Any info is appreciated.

I guess it depends on how fussy your installation is. I'd just plug the cig plug into a male/female cig plug extension cord, leave the switch on the seat, within reach, and call it a day. This way you dont damage the existing cord, or resale value, and wont take a chance of messing up.
