No, just make sure that when the white half of the head comes on, you shut off the red portion to prevent over-heating the head and reducing the life of the diodes. Granted, I'm sure Whelen took this into account (as noted by the fact that they've changed the type and size of diodes used on the boards in the duo bars versus the style that used to be incorporated with the older style heads) and you would be relatively okay, but it'd look weird to have the white on while the red was flashing anyway, right? ;)
