Wiring a Whelen Cencom Gold.

Adding on to my previous question. I finished wiring the siren part of the Cencom, but will finish the lighting and programming tomorrow. But before I continue, I have two questions. On the amp plugs, can there be some pressure on them? Where I had to mount the amp involves some of the wires to have a little pressure on them. The other question is about the programming. Does the programming cord have to be plugged in whenever everything is connected? Or do you have to use some other method?
