I was tasked at work to up-date our back-up/NICU truck's warning lights. Right now it has all halogen flashers and thats it. I plan on replacing the halogen lights with strobes and was wondering if the cables are compatible. Or do I have to run all new strobe cable?

Thanks, Chad

You are "updating" a vehicle with "outdated" technology. Save yourself time, money and hassle and swap the Halogen heads for same sized LED fixtures and use the existing wiring AND existing flashers if you wish. Longer warranty, brighter light, less current draw = Updated.

Thanks for the info guys. The entire truck is outdated lol. It's a 1999 or 2000 and has been rode hard and put away wet numerous times. I was also going to add either an LED or strobe lightbar and dash lights. Any body have 8 900 series LEDs layin around?

Thanks

Hey bro is there any pics of the rig in question on the Riverdalevfd.org site?

Nah, this is for work. It's a E-350/wheeled coach type 3 ambo with basic KKK warining light package. Each corner of the box has a 900 series flasher, the rear has a 600 series amber flasher, the front has a 700 series white flasher. The front 1/4 panel and grill have 700 series lights as well. Not very effective IMO.

Halogen KKK packages are far superior to strobe. And despite what people think, a bare bones KKK halogen package is very bright and effective. Updating an ambulance to strobe will take multiple power supplies and a ton of wire and money. Either go to LED (same wires and flasher) or leave the halogen. You couldn't pay me enough to re-run wiring to all he corner/cab lights in an ambulance.
