Woman shoots herself

I still can't believe they still didn't treat her.

It sounded like they did.

A lot of bullet wounds just aren't that bad. A low power round firing a solid bullet could miss blood vessels, major nerves, joints and bone and just pass through cleanly. A sharply tapered spitzer style solid can essentially part muscle as it passes through without doing much damage at all.

Unless something important is hit with a round carrying some power, the average round just isn't that good at doing damage. Even with good hits with duty rounds, some people take their time when it comes to lying down, being quiet and behaving.

She didn't get treated for the original injury and she was out of the hospital within 24 hours. She even stated that I didn't accomplish anything.

That's not a bullet, that's redneck acupuncture!

I remember being in a Manhattan ER one night when they brought in an NYPD officer who had been shot in the thigh by a .25 auto FMJ. They gave him some antibiotics and told him to come back to surgery clinic in the AM to get it removed.

I am sure that cigarette wasn't free. Go buy some tylenol and realize your getting older, your gonna get hurt more easily.

Which brings to mind the anonymous quote: "If you shoot me with a .25, and I find out about it, I'll kick your ass"
