I am looking for cheap and easy to program scanner to mount in my truck to replace my old radio shack 163 that stopped working.
Brand doesn't matter aslong as its mobile compatible. Not looking for a hand held and nothing fancy no need to pickup digital.
Just basic will only use 10 channels

Thanks
Dan

If nobody here has something, poke around ebay for a Uniden BC 560XLT, 16 channels, direct entry keypad for programming, compact and very easy to find for $15-30. I have had one running non-stop (that is correct, even with the truck off overnight) for about 3 years now and it hasn't skipped a beat. By far one of my favorite mobile scanners!
