I have a Code 3 Z3 Matrix amplifier that I’d really like to add to my setup. It’ll be going in my 2005 CVPI. I had the base “Z3 Legacy” version for a while, but upgraded due to the Matrix’s tone changes and more customization options.
Problem boils down to this. The amp is too wide and too long for it to fit inside my center console. Technically the amplifier itself does fit and I could screw it down to the rail, it’s the heavy-gauge primary wiring harnesses on the side that make it a very, very tight fit. I’ve tried mounting it under the seat to no avail. The trunk is an option (mounted on the metal seat divider), but it’s an awkward location to reach if you need to work on the amp. My Legacy Z3 was mounted there and it was the biggest PITA.
Any suggestions on more (convenient) locations? Unfortunately I don’t have an equipment slide-out tray, so my options are limited.
