Hey Guys and Gals,
**Mods if I have not placed this in the right section please move this to the appropriate section.
I have a 2012 Ford Explorer (Civilian Model/Non-Police Package) and I need a trunk tray installed. I came up with a few blue prints and these are my two options. Please keep in mind this is a Personally Owned Vehicle and nothing needs to be drilled and/or permanent solution to a trunk tray.
Things to keep in mind when browsing pictures and posting comments:
- Trunk tray needs to be able to hold a heavy Yeti Ice chest
- Trunk tray needs to be able to be removed/un-installed without leaving behind a mess
- There is NOT a lot of tie-down points to "hold down" the tray whenever it is fully extended so it doesn't fall out the back (If you know of any other mounting options please let me know)
- There is TWO OPTIONS of trays either having the Yeti facing the back of the tailgate OR turning the Yeti sideways and having a small storage area beside it
**I would like to go with the option of having storage and being able to fully extend the Yeti out of the Explorer
I need opinions on EVERYTHING pertaining to building a trunk tray, the heavy duty slides that hold the tray, securing the tray to the vehicle, materials (sheets of metal, wielding??, screws, bolts, etc.)
All help is appreciated. Thanks guys!
