Hello everyone,

ive recently installed the DV-1 from Watchguard in my Vic and wired it up completly (including trigger wires etc) because i wanna use it at car meets to record "real" dashcam footage as a gift for friends and to use in promos for our car club. The System is working perfectly and i can get the videos onto DVDs just fine, the only thing is that if i play them back on my PC or DVD player there is no overlay (GPS Position, Triggers, Timestamp etc) the whole thing that make it "real" interms of looks.
From what ive read in the official DV-1 Manual i know that you need the special software to extract that data otherwise its just the plain video. Thing is that you can get the software anymore, ive tryed using Watchguard Evidance Library Express (from a post on here) but its not compatible with the DV-1 system. Also the official Watchguard Player that you can still get only replays the video footage without any overlays.
The Manual recomends the sofware called "DVD Manager Utility" but i cant find it anywhere.
My question now is: Has someone here figured out a way to get the video with the overlays from this kind of system and was successful? If so could you tell me how you did it and what software you used?
Would be much apreciated :)

hope you all are having a wonderfull day!

I just got my own DV-1 a few days ago and have been doing research trying to find all the relevant tools and utilities myself. It seems that WatchGuard made and distributed two programs for these systems: DVD Manager Utility (DMU) and Fleet Manager Utility (FMU).

I have been able to locate a copy of the DMU and will have it linked. Thankfully it seems that someone had the forethought to archive it on the WayBack machine some time ago. I downloaded and installed to my Windows 11 laptop, and seems to have installed fine however I have not tested it with the DV-1 yet.

DMU Download:
https://web.archive.org/web/20121016071621/http://watchguardvideo.com/download/primary_downloads/DVD Manager Utility/WatchGuard_DMU_3-1.zip

There also exist a decent amount of user manuals following this link, though note that about half the downloads don't work properly:
https://web.archive.org/web/*/http://watchguardvideo.com/download/*

Now I'm not sure how to solve your specific problem with the overlays since I haven't had a chance to fully test my unit yet. But on my unit, entering the main menu screen and going in this order, I am able to see both options for text field to display along with an option to enable/disable text fields:

Main Menu >> System Settings >> Manage On-Screen Text

I have been searching for the FMU (Fleet Manager Utility) software, and unfortunately it seems that never got archived. If someone has a copy anywhere, let me know!!!
