FEDERAL SIGNAL TOUCHMASTER Technical Manual for TM4 and variants:

This is the D-N UNITROL Versions, the firmware (software) (for the microcontroller) in the siren has remained the same, as it was done by a 3rd party contracted in by Ed Nunn in the early 90's

Attached is the installation, operation and service manual for the PA20A Series B - production ceased around 1989.

Available in 12V or 24V - manual covers 12V

These were being built largely for the US Army for use in their military Fire and Ambulance vehicles. The circuitry is completely different from earlier PA20A sirens and uses and adaptation to the circuitry released for CPA and MPA series sirens.

Attached is the PA-150 Installation, Operation and Maintenance manual for the PA-150, last production run prior to being discontinued in 1987.

There are earlier releases that have slight differences, some have slow wail and yelp tones.

Here's the manual for the narrowstik wiring and programming. Will work for almost all the narrowstiks. Mine was built in 02/26/07 and it helped alot. It helped me to wire to a Vista.

Also sorry out of order tht's not how it was uploaded.

Tim: Didn't you have a copy of the '48 Federal catalog? I'm trying to find a picture of an old 76-B like in the above listing but where you can see the old screen-like grille. I had a 6-V 76B like that that Harold had refurbed for me and was in the mix taken.

Digging through all my stuff I was able to note 40 years of lighting catalogs i've saved. Signal-Stat, Whelen, Code3, Federal as far back as the 60's, Target-Tech, Napa catalogs, Old Tomar, Dietz, you name it! I wish I had a way to show everyone...I'm sure you guys would go NUTZ over this stuff and it might actually help someone with a search! Any ideas on how to display all this stuff? i literally have probably 20 old 3-ring binders full of old catalogs. Too much to even list. How about a video or something? PM me with some ideas on how to tackle this without a pile of effort as I just don't have alot of computer time...

There is only a few ways I can think of for posting catalog information.  Post a picture of each page or scan each page and post pictures.  I guess you could scan each catalog and make it a pdf file, then post the pdf files on a file hosting site for downloading.  I expect a video would not provide sufficient clarity for reading the text of the catalogs.

Here is the newly "restored" Whelen 80*8 (8038) lightbar diagram.

Came across this cover in an image search for "Signal Stat catalog." I sure wish they had the rest of it. I'm in need of Signal Stat Dual-Comm ads and/or literature. I'd also love to find some product technical diagrams.

Here are a few pictures of my Dominion Auto catalog from 1985. Note that they offered a few Code 3 lightbars in there too.

Those electronic sirens are North American Signal Siren Masters rebranded as Dominion Auto.

Hello "894"

I'd be glad to scan them for you. Seriously! Maybe we could start out with a few binders at a time. It sounds like you have a tremendous amount of material that many here (including me) would love to see.

This is a big deal for me, the TrailBlazer off road lightbar. I have always loved them, and there is not a ton of information out there about them. The company that built them, New Technology, also built and marketed the Lightstorm warning lightbar built on the same platform, along with several other bars. The Trailblazer had the option from the factory to substitute rotators in for some of the stationary lights. I have only seen one picture of a Trailblazer with a rotator option, and it was one right in the middle of the bar. The lights were all 55w halogen from the factory, with the option for 100w bulbs. My SR-1000 (the largest they made, 60" long) has the high output option, and based on the catalogs rating of 7.8 amps per bulb, is about 134 amps all on and 5,100,000 candlepower!

Too cool! Pulled it up at work and one of my co-workers had one! Too bad he has since sold the truck it was on.

Here is one for the Mars Aurora Borealis. Kelly (aka Skulldigger) had sent me the PDF that he located. They were scanned in crooked so I fixed that and made hi-res images of it. These print out very nicely.

Alex.

The Federal PA15A series 1E, PA20A series 2E, PA20A series B, PA150, PA170, PA200, and PA1000 all have the same siren oscillator circuit. They are designed to produce fast rising high-pitched wail and yelp tones like most of the electronic sirens we hear nowadays.

I've heard some of them with slower wails and yelps and some that have lost their high pitch, but this is likely due to wear and tear on the components in the siren oscillator circuit.
