I'm an EMT with 3 agencies in the Susquehanna region of New York and a full time college student at Binghamton University. All 3 agencies are volunteer at the moment, looking to get into paid EMS for the summer full time and part time during the school semesters.

I'm another multi agency guy.

#1) I'm Chief of Krooked Kreek Volunteer Fire Department near Harrison, Arkansas. We're a small, rural fire department with about 30 personnel that covers a large area that includes part of a National Park, rural areas, suburban areas and a heavily traveled "Scenic Byway" that is popular with motorcycles. We provide fire protection, EMS and Search and Rescue services. Calls are typically house, vehicle, heavy equipment or wildland fires, basic medical issues and LOTS of Motor Vehicle Accidents (especially motorcycles). In fact, in a two mile stretch of our scenic byway, we worked 5 motorcyclist fatalities in two months last summer.

#2) Part-time EMT for North Arkansas Regional Medical Center's EMS. It's a hospital-based ALS ambulance service that serves three counties. I work on an as-needed basis to keep my training and skills sharp.

#3) Volunteer for "BUFFSAR" which is short for Buffalo National River Search and Rescue. We provide Search and Rescue for the nation's first National River. Typical call outs are missing hikers, stranded canoeists and injured subjects. By far, our most common injury call is falls from our many bluffs. We perform many high angle rescues each year.

My training/certifications include EMT, high-angle rescue tech, swiftwater rescue tech, cave rescue tech and misc. training in incident management (type 3 incident manager). I'm also a retired police officer (retired in 2001 at age 29 after a traffic accident). In my "real job" I'm I run my own business as a freelance outdoor writer and photographer.

In my free time.... Never mind, I don't have much free time. :D
