New lights on old cars are an abomination, but old lights on new cars are utterly glorious.

Is it ECE65 approved?

...Do they even care? Britain most certainly doesn't care about ECE65 certification, but I think most mainland European countries tend toward using only certified lights. I recall seeing somewhere a PDF of the certification notice for that pseudo-rotating LED lightbar the French National Police use, so I think the French at least acknowledge the possibility of approval. Germany I think is the most-likely country to actually require ECE65-approved lights, but IDK.

In France, the police nationwide, depends on a ministry While the police of the city, directly depends on the municipality.

Their needs are directly managed by the municipality. They do not depend on national contracts.

First of all, that XL looks great!

And f*ck that damn ECE R65, that sh*t is the reason why a single approved LED beacon in germany costs 500€, that are 650$ for a single beacon.

That's correct. That's why municipal markets have become the most prolific outlet for upfitters and EV gear retailers alike. Except for the graphics which have to follow a similar and specific standard, each municipality pretty much decides for itself which models or emergency equipment they choose.

Same goes for weapons for municipal police officers. Although most towns and cities chose not to equip their police force with sidearms, a few have made the transition to arming their officers.
