Just called Cop-lite... THEY STILL MAKE THEM AND HE GAVE ME A PRICE AND ALL!!!! looking for that awsome Cali steady burn light, just call Cop-lite! :woot: :woot: :woot:

I tried to email them and it said the address wasnt valid, what was the price and what version where you looking at?

Here is the squared cop-lites, i had over 50 sets of these back in 2010 from LAPD> I also have red glass lens that are from federal signal that have the FS logo that fit these lights. I think federal use to sell the cop-lite lights under their name, also the Federal Signal Motorized mirror lights I believe are someone else lights and just branded Federal Signal. Someone correct me? Also some styles of the shroud where held in place with a spring warped around the back of the light head instead of being held in place by screws.

Pulled a shot from the video, I'll see if I have the film to pull a better quality picture from.

Are these lights that you still have for sale? I like that single with the shroud.

Just found this. Thought it looked cool. Headliner mount.

Recieved the light today. Very nice!

To my surprise, it has a quick disconnect feature, where the light can be removed from the mount and wiring with a simple push of a button at the top of the shaft.

Dan, if you still have this can you possibly send me some photos, as these are gone obviously.. Thank you!

I think it might be good to clearify for new readers that the lights from both the EES-Coplite and the Federal GL-1 and GL-2 together with some other companies in the 80s used lights from the Japanese manufacturer IPF.
The closest light they manufacture today is this.

It is a grote #6403 par 46 lighthead, but there is a sticker on the back, I assume the manufacturer of the unit, Adamson Industries, San Jose' Calif. U.S.A.

Dan
Adamson was in San Jose, and also in So. Cal... And as luck would have it, I just took in a Grote 6403, so some progress!!

I know.. there was another segment in that flick that I think showed the light we are talking about originally before the CopLite diversion took over...Its was not worth trying to steer back to being on course..

An excellent relic! I can envision it rolling around the floorboard when it wasn't in use. As I'm an east coaster, I'd add a flasher though.
I can vouch for that back in the day. Very ungainly sitting on the seat, and roll baby roll, where is my damn red light, shhoot.. its on the floor... ......

Here is an unrestored FBI light that I picked up several years back, the seller told me it came from an LA area FBI vehicle but who knows.9FA75817-3121-4204-822A-7C351032205C.jpegA8B968E8-1D94-4D97-984C-D07E70D5F60C.jpegB216ABB7-F557-44AF-863F-F3CD2A730D71.jpeg

That steady "burning" red lamp. Yes. Nothing like it. It is so old school, and so very out of tune with today's technology and what not. But... Old.School.Still.Works. And it's still on the books in CA. I doubt that will ever change.--At least I hope it does not...--
