Unless you're donating, that's all it will likely see. It's worse on the Active Duty side. At least for the guard guys the state can be kind and give them good vehicles and lighting.

Yea and Stratton is a very small base as well, that's all they really need.

That sure looks slick! I live the graphics package! Another plus is that we call it OEM, while I tend to giggle a little when I see "EMO" on the sides of trucks.

My only disappointment is that they went with (what appears to be) 2 dual avengers on the headliner; I think this vehicle deserves an exterior lightbar! Is this unit based out of the Montour area?

Unknown unit purpose, Non-Police Unit. Equipment includes Tir3 Arrowstick w/LED Beacon to rear, and Dual Avenger in windshield in front. No siren visible inside and only see a mobile radio.

The TWY cars are typically used by civilian supervisors, engineers, etc. for the day-to-day business of maintaining and operating the NYS Thruway. I see them a lot at road and bridge maintenance sites. It's not unusual to see one at a toll booth. I've also seen them lending a hand with traffic control with their lighting. BTW, all the lighting in the TWY cars is amber.

Definitely not an LE vehicle.

Wow, that fusion looks great from the outside. Are all these pics at a giant motor-pool facility used by the agencies in the area?

As for the black E-series van, I'll keep an eye out for that LP in case I'm due to have a SWAT team pay me a visit lol.

No, Motor Pool facilities, just car dealerships. The NYSP has a crap load of vans like that.

Judging by pictures I have seen in the local newspapers, and the power port on the side and vents on the top; I would guess that is a forensics vehicle more than a SORT one.

Never said it was a SORT vehicle. It could be used for anything, SORT, Forensics, crash reconstruction, commercial vehicle enforcement, etc, etc.

Every commercial enforcement unit I have ever seen has always been a marked unit. My guess is forensics or crash reconstruction.

So you have traveled throughout the state and know every vehicle they have....? Point is, you never know until you see the unit for yourself. Not to mention but this is Albany, every unit you could never think of is here.

I didn't expect a sarcastic answer from you of all people. My comment was my observation and experience, not a definitive statement covering all units. I never claimed that all commercial enforcement units were marked, but only that I had never seen one.

I spent nearly 28 years in the Rochester area as a police department employee and saw a lot of police units of all types throughout the state. Unmarked SP units, except for investigators, were pretty much not seen during that time. Not saying they aren't out there, but only that I had never seen one like this, especially in commercial enforcement. Every SP check point and commercial vehicle station I have ever observed has always been marked units.

Nice pictures. If you haven't already, you should create a Flickr account. There's a huge police vehicle following on there...

I enjoy your thread and look forward to more posts. I have heard that Albany had some Dodge Magnums and was wondering if you have any pictures of them? And last what is the main ford fleet dealer name in Albany?

There are two major Ford dealerships, Orange Ford of Albany and Metro Ford of Schenectady.

Thanks for the info and the pic. Magnum really looks awesome. Im shocked a little that it didnt have more police use but visibility probably sucks.
