So I was bored the other day, and was helping a friend of mine install some leds in his instrument cluster. Well, he had one single led left over, so took apart my 295SL100 to see if there was any room in there for it. I installed one of Oznium's surface mount, pre-wired led's, just to be a little... different, thought it would look neat with a little different color. The leds' can be seen here on their website: Tiny Prewired Super Bright Surface Mount LEDs - 12V DIY Plug and Play SMT LED. I am very happy with the outcome of it, several pics below. This light has the resistor built in, so it only requires a 12v power source. The light was grounded on one of the transformer studs, and the positive power is coming from the switch, where the light comes on with the switch being in the "On" position, along with the original back lights. I left the original backlighting in place, as this single led greatly overpowers the ones that are already installed. The light, as you can see in the pic, is mounted on the top, left side of the transformer, facing the faceplate. (I guess thats a transformer? Right? I don't know :weird: ) Hope you like it! I am certainly pleased with the outcome.
