Signal-stat no.381-motor adjustment??

I am a new collector,I have a signal stat no.381. any tips on motor adjustments? Seem really loud/motor to gear. I can send pics if it would help.just don't want to ruin motor or gears.

Pics would help. If it's the older brass gear model, disassembly, cleaning, and light (sewing machine or gun) oil are recommended. Just a drop here and there, not too much. Assembly should be adjusted so there is a little play between the brass and worm gear. One drop of oil at each motor bearing is also recommended. This is done with the motor mounting screws. This light will still be louder than the modern motors. Nature of the beast.

That is a nice light. I have a Fireball that sounds like I"m making margaritas in the blender when it runs.
