I just came across a pair of Sireno Can lights. Tag reads MC2 they have forward and rear facing Red Par 36 lamps.

Looking for any general information on these.. Never ran into these before.

Thanks,
Rob

Rob, Sireno made these late 60s-70s. Spring loaded Retaining ring held the bulbs in. Spot bulbs used, so narrow beam projection. Nice find!

Any ideas on how to remove the pars? I need to replace a blown lamp.

Rob, thought you might like to see this vintage 1971 photo - the light rack is on a 1970 Ford Ranch Wagon (stationwagon) of the Garden City, NY, Police on Long Island. In addition to the can flashers there is a Sireno model 199 revolving light and an outboard pair of 7-inch flashers.

What is that round device on the roof with the exposed electrical connections? Looks like the light cable goes down through the roof as it normally should.

My guess would be a Mechanical Flasher of some sort.

just a guess. not sure why you have contacts exposed to elements thats a fail right there.

Looks like a (Julian) McDermott flasher. Bizarre mounting for sure.

Yes, I think that is a McDermott mechanical flasher. BTW, that whole odd set up was the only one of its kind on the Garden City PD fleet at the time. No idea why.

Here's what the entire car looked like, as well as GCPD cars having the typical arrangement at the time.

I do believe those are Whelen strobes; not sure of the model number. Speaking of Garden City NY and strobes, look at the three lights that their FD chief's car had during the same era (1971 Mercury Monterey station wagon).

@2 Whelen 800, or a 2700 dual system, and a Northern Blitzer strobe.
