Hey everyone. I know it's been a while since I've been on here but wanted to show you all something I found recently. I'm hoping someone might have some information about this little beacon I bought. It's a Grimes Hi-Flash beacon light with a glass dome and two bulbs that rotate inside. This has to be one of the smallest beacons I've owned! I assume these were probably used in the mid-50s possibly? This is the first time I've seen one....well besides the flush mount version that are used on older airplanes. When I hear of Grimes, I think aviation or Miller Meteor lights. I did find one photo that a member posted a few years back showing a Hi-Flash on top of a Mercury tow truck. (photo credit: Michael212) It's a bright beacon for it's small size too!

Here are another two pics of these cute little things in service.

Wow! Well I guess that was the last time it lights up. Lol.

What a difference in the 12 and 24 volt models.

These were originally designed as aircraft anti-collision beacons.

Yes, it would look more at home on an airplane than on an emergency vehicle.

You've never seen JDI's Micro-Beacon series.
