Visibar factory standards?

well the term "visibar" is what federal calls just the bar itself, not everything mounted to it.
So in your picture you have what appears to be a model 14 with lollipops on the end mounted on a "visibar"

Nice find btw.

I'll echo what Rob said. They really had endless setup possibilities, as an upfitter could buy just the bar and install whatever was wanted on them. I think they're a little unappreciated by collectors today unless they are a twin beacon ray. This looks like a sharp find!

The flashing lamps are Unity 20110.
They use a 50cp 1195 bulb.

The Federal LL-4 mentioned was made by Grote and was using a 32cp 1156 bulb.

Stratolite is by the way only a trade mark owned by the plastic manufacturer Acutek Inc. in Odessa MO.
They do only make generic lenses that have been used by many different warning equipment manufacturers over the years.

Good topic. I think the Twin 11 is no doubt the most recognized and used setup on the Visibar. So much that many have equated that design as the Visibar and all other variations as a modification. I have been guilty for sure. Good to be reminded.

Dietz, Unity, TruckLite many different companies had applications for the lens. I never said it was a manufacturer. I think you can move on Michael... Cheers!

I can't find my post from years ago, but the Model 11 Twin BeaconRay synchronized warning light, utilizing the VisiBar, was commonly (and erroneously) called the VisiBar...common because the end cap with the VisiBar label was staring you in the face every time you got in the vehicle. Stampeed is correct in that they were two different products offered by FedSig. I can recall many, many confused customers saying they wanted the VisiBar when the wanted the Mod 11. Eventually we replied, "You mean the one with the two 14s on the bar?"
"Yup, that's the one!" There was one customer that came in and wanted the bar only: "Could we special order it without the 14s?" We could have said we would do our best, but we told them there was no special order necessary and they were elated.

Though I started my public safety career with 100 watt siren speakers in lightbars over my head I can't imagine racing around with a screaming Q there, plus 2 100 watt siren speakers. I'm amazed that Q torquing up on startup doesn't rip that lightbar right off the roof.
Louisville, KY Fire chief's "buggies" had a mod 11 on the roof with a Q2B mounted in the middle (LPD had PA100 on the bar). It utilized a FedSig mount similar to the PA 100...did the job well, but you couldn't hear yourself think!

A famous Visibar.

i154208.jpg

The Federal Signal Visibar was simply a bar upon which the customer could mount whatever they wished, so you could have a wide array of different things mounted on a Federal Signal Visibar.

So, what kind of configuration is this? No visibar, but we have got the beacons, and i like that antenna pivot. (also what light is to the right?)
