Does anyone know if there’s a way to access some of the Whelen core CAN features for a vehicle that isn’t supported by whelen? Want to park kill, vehicle lock/unlock, etc.

Adapting unlisted vehicles is always a challenge. If you can map out the OBD2 port you might be able to adapt a CANport from another vehicle, but it's going to be trial and error. I found this online for 1996 Nissans onward.

This is from the 14C81 (2020 Ford & GM) CANport cable:

OBDII pinout is supposed to be universal; the challenge will be to find if any of the vehicles in the Whelen stable will share signal outputs for the conditions you need. If you've got the tools you can fabricate an equivalent to the Whelen cable for around $40.

Another option is a dedicated signal converter like this one. While it's about the same going price as a CANport cable, it's covers more vehicle, but the signals are far more limited. The one I linked will provide you with RPM, Engine Running and Vehicle Moving signals. You can use the output and send it to an input port you assign parameters to...typically something like (IF Input "X" =12+VDC = Vehicle Stopped = activate PARK KILL).

Does anyone have experience with the scanport module whelen put out? We're trying to get a core system to work on a 2023 2500hd silverado, but found the obdii harness is not compatible to this truck.

ScanPort is the only cable that will work with that truck. Well, kind of. The K9 cable will work on some 23 silverados, but they changed everything mid year. So if you have to order a cable, get the scanport. Scanport will work on any Command supported vehicle.

We have a scanport, but the passenger seat module does not have the wires that whelen says to use ( CAN H Blue -CAN L White). We have identified a pair of Can H&L wires under the front row center jump seat. we are going to attempt to put the scanport there and see if we can get anything. Do you happen to know where others might be installing the scanport on these trucks?? Whelen has not been helpful they told us to contact chevy talked to 2 reps at whelen. Thank you

I haven’t installed one in an HD yet, and don’t know of any others. Are the colors just wrong? Or is it a stripped down model that doesn’t have the occupancy sensor?

Edit: just did some quick FB searching. It looks like green-hi, blk/wht-lo. Pins 2 and 4.

Yes that's the plug we have, whelen couldn't tell us more than the c399k9 would only work on the 8 pin plug not the 6. I can try out your suggested green-hi, blk/wht-lo. Pins 2 and 4 if the wires under the center front seat dont work since the scanport doesn't really damage the wires. Appreciate the help.
