What’s the recommended size cotter-pin if you recallI honestly used a correct diameter cotter pin shoved as far as I could get it in, then slightly bent the end tines so it'd stay seated. I remember the difficulty I had getting the original pin out (used a same diameter finishing nail to pop the old pin) & didn't have the proper tool to reinstall it again. The cotter pin works too!
Whom ever installed the last one it was already bent, your right it’s just frustrating, if I knew the issue with this bar I would’ve gone a different route yet again it’s a learning experience.Looks like a bent roll pin. You need a new straight one. Line up holes and tap in with a small hammer, and punch if needed. Pin is rounded at each end to assist in starting into hole.
