I was digging through my parts bin and found this Predator LED with no mounts. I did a little more digging around and found a Mini Phantom mount and i put them together and got this

Here is my custom dash light. It is a cut down dashking housing with 3 Federal Impaxx lights. The outer lights alternate and the center has a pattern that makes it look effective with the other 2. I had to trim the tabs on the side as well as take off a little more plastic on each for all 3 to fit the housing. I dont like wires on the dash so I bought an "N" receptacle at radio shack since I had a plug and wire from an ac adapter that matched. I routed the wire under the light, tucked it in front of the dash down to a switch on the dash. I like the clean look and can remove it if I like in seconds.

Well since everyone here is building or modifying custom traffic advisors now a days, I decided to do the same. I took a brand new FS SignalMaster sml6, drilled out the halogen connectors, and popped in new strobe bulbs. Then wired it up to a new Star/SVP RSK996 power supply. It's a very basic build but the strobe effect in a SignalMaster looks amazing! I could have used "3" Federal Signal DS2's but I wanted something more unique. I plan to install this behind my All-Light Streethawk once I get the mounting brackets for it.

I finally landed a 17 inch Mini Lfl that was strobe and I converted it over to series 500 super tir6's

red/clear. Will post pictures shortly.

Thats leaves me with a total of four mini Lfl and two full size bars. The full size bars are still

strobe but will be converted over also all in due time

The wife made 2nd Asst.Chief at her station back in May she is also an EMT. But the van was down for some body work so it gave me time to come up with this. The reason for the blue split I don't think a Chief should be able to run ambulance calls with red other than the EMS chief and Asst. and paramedics. The Fire and the Amblunce Co. are 2 seperate enites and each are INC.

I bought a Sho-me strobe light Force off ebay on the cheap.

Took all the strobes and supply out.

Bought 2 Sho-me 11.1005-SF flashers and about 30 Cuda leds in red and blue out of a Ohio Vistas.

But 12 blue in the top for her when she answers EMS calls.

And put 12 red in the bottom for when she answers fire calls.

The flashers are set to random for now and there are 2 seperate button switchs for here to use in blue or red.

If she dosen't get reelected in May will change bottom to blue or just pull hot wire on reds.

If I could figure out how to out put vids up on Youtube or something like that I could show it working.

Neat idea... Effective.

Google "how to upload a video on youtube" for help with that. It's rather easy. :)

Dual color = great success!

Requiring separate colors for fire and ems = epic fail

Awesome job!

i think this is great!! I'm assuming those are CUDA LEDs from the vista. that must look great lit up! figure out how to upload a video!!! :bonk:

i have to do the same thing. can use blue only for fire calls, but can use red/blue for EMS call. Two separate departments. Two separate entities. Two different ranks.

my truck is set up with a ss2000sm

SLIDE SWITCH 1: All Amber

SLIDE SWITCH 2: All Blue

SLIDE SWITCH 3: Red/Blue

works very well for me

Nice light, but EMS is supposed to be green, not blue, unless associated with the fire district (in which case she could run red). Screwy, I know, and not something I personally agree with, but it is what it is.

Yes this is a fire district (Slaterville,Tompkins co.). And it had been discussed in several differnet meetings while I was still in.And voted down because we all know how hard it is for people to move over for a blue light,People see a green light and wonder WTF now is this light for.

And Has far as red the EMS Chief is the one who allows for a red to be displayed if you are a CC(still here in Tompkins Co) or a paramedic but you have a choose if you want to after he oks it.

And Just about everybody in both departments have radios and designation numbers.Omly reson I said something about the fire and ems split is because the chief is a driver for the rig and we go by the ABCDE. call codes and he thinks he has to run code on every call. And because he is chief of fire he can tell the emts what to do.

As far as I am concerned with the 2 departments being different inc. a red light in fire should not be in the Ambulance side.By the way this is all Vol. on both sides.

Anyway most of the members belong to both.

P.S. This is my personnal opinon and not of anybody else's.

So I was bored and had this shell. I took a speaker section plate from an Aerodynic, drilled it, and then drilled out a bunch of RBKT1 brackets for TIR3/LINZ6 lightheads. I then installed all the heads and synced all the reds on the corners (LINZ6) the 2 front center lights (LIN3W) and put the rear center TIR3A on a single flash all by it's lonesome. What you see is the result....I am very happy with it and the output is nothing short of outstanding!. Enjoy....video to come....

How much would it cost to make one of these now that you are experienced in it?

My total investment was $375.00 not including my time which was about 7 hours at $157.65/HR lol....I am adding a red LIN3 to the rear and 1 to the front as a steady burn to make it a mini Cal spec bar....

Since chief1565's thread was specifically in reference to a bar he built himself, and he not display the application of said bar but only his creation, it has been combined/merged into the custom lights/lightbars thread. Should chief1565 want to showcase the mini bar as it has been installed on a vehicle, it can then be in it's own thread in the Installs section.

Just trying to conform to the site rules. Carry on!

The use of the Lin3 is very effective. I built out a custom Responder LP and have about $500 invested, and the Tir3 seems to be just as effective as the Lin6s in the Whelen Responder LP.

Your angled Lin6 on the side is much more prominent than the squared off lamps in a Responder. I also have R/C to the front, red on the sides, and red/amber to the rear.

Good job And very good photos.
